Marcelis Alexander Barrett is a professional dancer from Fort Worth, Texas. His professional performance career begin in live shows at Six Flags Over Texas at age sixteen. Mr. Marcelis holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Theater from the American Music & Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, Ca. During his time in Los Angeles he worked with the choreographer Ricky Palomino on the set of Life Time’s “Raising Asia” as a dancer. Shortly after he was chosen by Judith FLEX Helle (Artistic Director) to dance as a guest artist with The Luminario Ballet. He has served as a company member for Nashville Ballet’s NB2, where he was cast as a male soloist. While in Tennessee, Marcelis later served as a soloist for the Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville and later began his teaching career. Upon his return to Texas, he became the Resident Guest Dance Coach for Cosmopolitan Dance Theatre and a dance instructor for The Block and The Joffrey school Texas. Additionally, he has danced as a guest artist with the Terrance M. Johnson Dance Project and Ballet NorthTexas. Most recently he began a career in modeling, walking in New York Fashion week for Walk Fashion show and has a featured article in Walk Magazine. He also serves as a brand ambassador for Halifornia Apparel and Art IV Play. Marcelis is very eager to be joining the North Texas Conservatory teaching staff.
